Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5;17-18 Merciful Lord, as this year comes to an end, I ask that you help me let go of all that is negative in my life, to let go of bitterness, anger, fear and anything that robs my time and joy. Help me surrender my life over to you, O God, soften my heart that I may gracefully choose faith over fear, anger, bitterness or resentments. May all these melt away Lord, make all things new, bring hope alive in my heart and cause my spirit to be born again. Thank you for this past year, for the many blessings I received. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.  James 4:10 It is so easy to be proud, Lord, and being humble is not, but I humbly come before you and surrender all to you. I want to trust in you with all of my heart, even when I cannot see the road ahead of me, I ask that you will lift me up, O God, bring me and keep me close to you always, in Jesus' name. Amen

  This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about .  His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.     Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce  her quietly.   But after he had considered this, an angel  of the Lord appeared to him in a dream  and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.     She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, [ f ]  because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill  what the Lord had said through the prophet:     “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).   When Josep...
