Love your enemies

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Matthew 5:44-46

Loving and forgiving Lord, sometimes it is not easy to love those who have hurt and wronged us, but I want to be fully obedient to you, so I ask that you cleanse my heart from all anger, bitterness and hatred, that you clothe me with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Teach me to pray for those who have wronged me, Father, to extend your mercy and forgiveness to them, so that they might also receive the mercy I have received. May the peace and love of Christ rule in our hearts, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 Mighty and wonderful God in heaven, blessed be your Name in all of the earth, thank you for your amazing promises and wonderful words of love. Help me walk the path you have for me, O Lord, help me to stay strong and firm in faith always in every situation, that I may one day receive the crown of life you have promised, I pray in Jesus' name.
