Whoever does the will of God lives for ever

​For everything in t​For everything in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives for ever. 1 John 2:16-17

Heavenly Father, keep reminding me that everything in this world will pass away, but your promises and love will last forever. Give me a humble heart, O God, help me do your will and not lust after the things of this world. May your desires be my desires, and may I not walk in the flesh,


but in the spirit that I may have eternal life, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
