Set your hearts on things above

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:1-4

Father God, creator of all, I want to belong to you and not this world, I want to do your will and live my life to honor you and give you glory. Help me focus on the things above and not on my problems or earthly things that will take me away from you, O Lord. Give me hunger for your word, the desire to live for you and cleanse my heart from all unrighteousness, I pray in Jesus' name.
Amen

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 Mighty and wonderful God in heaven, blessed be your Name in all of the earth, thank you for your amazing promises and wonderful words of love. Help me walk the path you have for me, O Lord, help me to stay strong and firm in faith always in every situation, that I may one day receive the crown of life you have promised, I pray in Jesus' name.
