For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?


For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37

Merciful and Mighty God in heaven, I thank you for your promises, your everlasting love and forgiveness and I thank you for the promise of eternal life at your side. Help me choose spiritual profit over worldly profit, help me not to walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, O Lord, but delight in your Word and meditate on it day and night. Keep reminding me that this world is only temporary, but your kingdom is eternal, guard my soul, and keep me away from anything that will compromise my salvation, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen

Lord will fight for you

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today...The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14 Almighty God in heaven, thank you for reminding us that no matter what impossibilities we face, or how hopeless things may appear, you are always faithful to lead us to victory. Remind us that it does not mean that our struggles will be without pain or fear, but it does mean that we can trust in you to deliver us, O Lord and that our victory will not by our strength, but by your mighty power because you are our Warrior and victorious King. Help us stand still and trust in you with all or our hearts and remember you are always in control, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen
