Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope

And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. who has been given to us. Romans 5:5

Father God, I may not understand my situation, but please help me understand it is all for your glory, that by going through trials I am building my trust and my faith in you and leaning on your strength to get through difficult times. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to build perseverance, character, and hope, O God. May your Holy Spirit fill me with your joy and hope even in my sufferings, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen

Lord will fight for you

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today...The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14 Almighty God in heaven, thank you for reminding us that no matter what impossibilities we face, or how hopeless things may appear, you are always faithful to lead us to victory. Remind us that it does not mean that our struggles will be without pain or fear, but it does mean that we can trust in you to deliver us, O Lord and that our victory will not by our strength, but by your mighty power because you are our Warrior and victorious King. Help us stand still and trust in you with all or our hearts and remember you are always in control, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen
