Man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” 

  Proverbs 16:9

Merciful Lord, Creator of all, I thank you for being my God, I thank you for being patient with me and loving me with all my imperfections. I have plans for myself this new year, but I know that my plans without your hand in them, may not succeed. You determine our steps, and your plans for us, are always better than we could ever plan for ourselves. Please guide my steps, O God, help me to succeed in all I do and bring honor and glory to your name, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen

My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you. Lord will fight for you

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today...The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14 Almighty God in heaven, thank you for reminding us that no matter what impossibilities we face, or how hopeless things may appear, you are always faithful to lead us to victory. Remind us that it does not mean that our struggles will be without pain or fear, but it does mean that we can trust in you to deliver us, O Lord and that our victory will not by our strength, but by your mighty power because you are our Warrior and victorious King. Help us stand still and trust in you with all or our hearts and remember you are always in control, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen
